Assistant Archaeologist
Bachelor of Archaeology, La Trobe University (candidate 2025)
Georgia joined ArchLink as an assistant archaeologist in November 2023. She is currently a candidate for a BA in Archaeology at La Trobe University. Georgia is now employed permanently and is involved in the photographic recording and illustration of Aboriginal artefacts for a salvage project in Curlewis on the Bellarine Peninsula. She is also being introduced to and trained to undertake various technical aspects of other current projects including mapping and artefact analysis. She is a valued member of our report writing team and has assisted with the preparation of heritage assessments and cultural heritage management plans (CHMP).
Georgia's area of interest in archaeology is the cranial anatomy of South African hominins. Investigating the morphological differences between species to better understand the morphological changes in human evolution over time. By analysing these anatomical variations, she aims to uncover insights into the evolutionary development of early humans.
During her studies at La Trobe University Georgia participated in an excavation of the Drimolen Palaeocave System that holds Pliocene to early Pleistocene hominin-bearing palaeocave fills, in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Cradle of Humankind in South.
