Miranda Kinrade
Archaeologist
BA in Archaeology, Monash University (2023)
BA in Archaeology and Ancient History (HONS), Monash University (2024)
Miranda joined ArchLink as a technical assistant in early 2021 after finding her passion for archaeology at Monash University. She assisted with the photographic recording and illustration of historical artefacts for the Metro Rail Tunnel project. She has now completed her BA in Archaeology and Ancient History with Honours. She is trained to undertake all aspects of our projects including field work, report writing, and mapping.
As an archaeologist, Miranda works in the field supporting our senior staff as well as at the office cataloguing, photographing artefacts and undertaking general research for our projects. She is a valued member of our report writing team and has assisted with the preparation of heritage assessments and cultural heritage management plans (CHMP).
She is particularly interested in the archaeology and history of textiles, in both a colonial and Aboriginal Australian context. Whether looking at possum skin cloaks or 19th century women's chemises, she is engaged with how natural resources are processed for clothing and how these textiles intersect with the lives of everyday people. In July 2023, Miranda undertook a three-week excavation of the Ancient Roman site of Carsulae, Italy.
