Due Diligence Assessments are often the first step in determining your legal requirement for a project.

These reports comprise a study of previous works completed on the area, a review of current legislation in relation to the project, and in some cases, a site visit by a qualified archaeologist. Due diligence reports establish legislative requirements pertaining to the following legislation:

  • Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006

  • Aboriginal Heritage Regulations 2018

  • The Heritage Act 2017

In addition to a Due Diligence report you may be required to conduct a Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Test (PAHT) which explains your obligations and makes an initial study of potential risks to heritage and legal compliance.
